I haven't read MCU fic in a long time, but an author I like was posting a Stucky story. Even though I didn't ship it, I decided to read it and I was reminded that I really like Steve a lot. I could read a gazillion fics about him doing nothing but sitting around thinking Steve-ly thoughts.

Oh man. I've read a lot of Steve/Tony and some Steve/Loki, so I'm kind of done with those pairings right now. (Unless you know something amazing!!) I guess I'm looking for either Stucky, since it's popular and I haven't gotten into it yet, or any less popular slash pairing like... I dunno, Steve/Bruce? Whatever, as long as it's good. I can do gen and het too. Can't think of any het Steve pairings I'm into, but I'm game if the reccer thinks it's a good fic.

I like long, slow burns with lots of sexual tension that remains unresolved for as long as possible. ~~(And piña coladas and getting caught in the rain.)~~ I like angst with a happy ending. I like angst with an unhappy ending. I like h/c, ESPECIALLY emotional h/c. I'm sure there are plenty of post CAWS Stucky fics that are super angsty.

Yesterday's secret reminded me how much I like Exley/White slash from the short-lived LA Confidential fandom. Been rereading Astolat's fic and the pairing tag on AO3 all evening.

That secret reminded me I need to watch the movie again. Ooooh. I love Astolat, so once I rewatch the movie I'm going to be all over that.

I'm almost in the exact same boat, except I'm also plagued by the troubling thoughts that many the authors I read don't seem to like Steve as much as I do. I can always tell when one actually does, and feel cheered by this, and then a little annoyed that I feel that way. Am I reading the wrong fics?

My answer for the thread is Tolkien's lengendarium. Every few years I fall back into it, and rediscover how much I love the people who play around in his world.
