Me too. Are the really supposed to save water? Because I find that they flush on their own so much they must be a massive waste of water. My school, which is usually very environmentally concious, uses them. I get automatic faucets. I get the hand dryers instead of paper towels (even if I hate it). Automatic toilets i do not get.

They make it impossible for people to lay a massive shit and then just leave it there, unflushed.

If you think that's not a problem, you have never worked someplace with a public restroom.

Well, except sometimes they don't flush all the way automatically, and people just walk off not bothering to look. So yes I've seen unflushed toilets just as much with automatic ones.

God forbid you should have to flush a shit you didn't lay. Oh the horror! Obviously, wasting gallons and gallons of water is preferable.

My record's six flushes before I escaped. There's a sticker on the mirror in that bathroom with a picture of cracked earth and a message to not waste water.

Thankfully they're not too common here, but Italy has them everywhere.

The first time I tried to use one of those in conjunction with a paper seat cover was comedy gold.

They're the wooooorst. As a kid I was genuinely terrified of them, because they made a loud noise when they flushed and I never knew when it was coming. I would cry if we walked into a public restroom that had them. :(

oh gog those used to scare me.

I'm pretty ok with them now (less gross) but as a kid and even a younger teen they made me so nervous I refused to use them unless I was absolutely desperate. I think they even made me cry a few times when I was really young.
