Make sure to walk straight, aka straighten your back, lift your head, aka good posture, smile and in general open your body language up for people so they feel you are approachable.

Also when you do talk to new people, smile, make sure you outwardly appear interested and happy to talk about their interests, be engaged in what they like. I would like to add that this does not mean you are not allowed to not talk about your stuff, but try to find some common ground.

Other than that other peoples advice have been quite good, it takes time to learn how to do this if you aren't used to it. So give it time, it takes practice like everything else in life.
