(Anonymous) 2015-03-25 02:05 am (UTC)(link)I would be the first in complaining about the use of Mexican Spanish as a way to convey that they're speaking American English, mostly because I have a hard time understanding Mexican Spanish so the good intention of the translator would be lost for me.
IMO it's better to stick with an Spanish as neutral as possible or to use the Spanish spoken in the country that work will be distributed.
But most people also complain about using regionalisms specific to countries that are not Spain or Mexico and let's not start the eternal debate of what counts as "neutral" Spanish.
There's pretty much no right choice here, is there?
