(Anonymous) 2015-03-25 03:27 am (UTC)(link)For some reason the word "Louisville" seems to be a particular problem. Sometimes I literally have no idea what city people are saying, and have to ask them to repeat a few times before I can figure it out.

Unrelated to accents: I once went to Louisville for a convention, and my family was seated in the hotel restaurant. Three of us received the same menus; my sister got one where everything was marked up 25% or more. When informed of this, the hostess said, "Oh I'm sorry honey, I gave you the Derby menu!" It was amazing.
