I know nothing about Troughton fanboys of the 80s or any other decade, but I'm happy to see a Classic Who secret!

I love him so much. He's so not good at being a hero and so very alien and also quite dapper. And even knowing that he was a cranky old racist, etc., An Adventure in Time and Space completely broke me for every time he fumbles a line and they leave it in.

I think his acting is terrific, the main thing for me is that the BBC hadn't decided a lot about him yet...like, Troughton is my favorite but I do think he has a huge advantage in that he got more of the 'core' traits of the Doctor because the Beeb decided those WERE going to be the core traits. Does that make sense? Like, Hartnell couldn't show in his performance that he was young by the standards of his people, that he had a view of mortality shaped by regeneration rather than death, and so on, because those weren't invented yet.

Text: I say he is my favourite.
I do think his Doctor is one of the best characterized of the bunch.
I hate how underrated he is thanks to 80s Troughton fanboys pushing the idea he wasn’t acting.

But he doesn’t make me cheer whenever he comes on screen like Tom Baker does.
