Re: Unpopular RL Opinions

Yes, I see your point. I have personally known lovable pit bulls who have never hurt anyone and are excellent with children and small animals, but I still have reservations about the breed in general. When it comes time to get a dog (something I'm still thinking about) I'm not sure if I'd go for a pit or not.

The thing is, I know they can be good dogs. But pits require a very specific type of owner. And frankly, I don't think most ppl are that kind of owner. Hence, I don't trust pit bulls.

Honestly, most dog owners could use a good course in dog training. I personally am more irritated by the owners of small dogs who assume they don't have to train them because they're so small, but I understand being wary of larger ones with big teeth.

This. My old neighbors used to have a Pomeranian that terrorized the entire neighborhood because they never bothered to get it trained.

This.
Most aggressive (and untrained) dogs I know are small ones and their owners don't even care.

Oh, I agree. I'd say that most people don't train their dogs properly, period. What makes it worse that a poorly trained pit bull has the potential to be deadlier than a poorly train golden retriever.

That's pretty much true for most dogs, though obviously big/strong dogs with owners that can't handle them can become a bigger risk for people than smaller ones.

Have you ever seen a German Shepherd with a bad owner?
I have seen some and those are the only dogs I have been terrified of.
