I was irritated during the season where she was shot and they backtracked a lot of their relationship. So, I was glad when they were moving forward.

Then I was disgusted by the season premier this year. One, that it seemed to put another unnecessary monkey wrench in their relationship (though they thankfully got over that quickly) but more importantly, that anyone could think Castle would put his mom and daughter through all that just to get out of the wedding or some shit.
