I think there was one author online that I followed (back in the LJ days) and when she started writing fic for a few pairings I realized that it wasn't a reality TV show. She wasn't a huge fan and she wrote in a ton of other fandoms so her LOST fics were easy to overlook. I think it might've actually been a crossover she did.

I'm not entirely sure since it's been so long. But I think there were a few people I followed who got into LOST and then once I realized what it was, EVERYONE was into LOST and I felt very left behind.

Ah. LOST is one of those shows that I don't really care about getting into. Seems to complicated and not worth it.

I can see that. I finally watched the whole thing once it was all done. I feel like there was a lot of talk while people tried to figure out what was going to happen - tried to make things more interesting and complicated than they ended up being - and you get this impression that there was way more to it than what actually was there.

I was happy to watch it after the fact because then I knew that the numbers were meaningless and not to bother with them, etc. It's not a bad show but I think it's a little overhyped (either positively or negatively - I didn't think the last season was so bad but then I knew what to expect and didn't have my hopes for something else).
