I was accidentally locked out when I was a kid and we had a half day from school so my parents were not going to be home any time soon. For some reason I decided to go down the street to the house of a kid who was in my class even though we didn't like each other much (though to be fair, there is really nothing else within walking distance of my house). But it worked out. His older sister let me help her make cookies.

Oh and in college before Disability Services helped me get my own room, my last roommate locked me out of our room when I was in the bathroom as she left for her first class of the morning. I don't know for sure that it wasn't on purpose but that could just be me being paranoid. There were a lot of weird things that happened in that room that made me feel like I was being gaslighted or something.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was kid - though it wasn't a half-day, my mom decided to work overtime [someone called in and she didn't want to call anyone else in, so she had to stay longer] and I ended up locked out for 2-3 hours.
