So, there was an Archie story from the '60s called "The Kisser Strikes!", where a mystery figure is going around kissing girls in dark, secluded areas, including Midge. Then Archie's kissed while he's investigating and everyone's confused. Turns out it was Betty, who set up this plan to kiss Archie... by also kissing girls "to throw everybody off". Suuuure, Betty. Sure.

Of course, as an anon notes the possibility of above, it's swept under the "doesn't really count if two girls kiss" rug, to join "girls love being kissed out of nowhere in dark, secluded places" and "boys never kiss boys, either". You don't even see Moose get mad, only girls begging Midge to tell them about the kiss. Anyway, the main point here is man this story is ripe for fanfiction plucking (seriously, Betty kisses 8 girls, including high-risk-factor Midge, and her best friend who's likely to see through her disguise? And manages to convince them all she's a boy? I feel like if I had run across this story as a wee, highly questioning bisexual, my heart would've stopped. And I'd have so much more headcanon).

lmao, I love reading old Archie stories. Betty and Veronica really do get quite a lot of (I'm assuming unintentionally) ship tease. I also like this part: "Jughead is the last guy in the world who'd be caught kissing a girl [emphasis theirs]." Why is "girl" emphasized? Would he more likely to get caught kissing boys?
