Women can. Of course they can (though only some women can orgasm through anal sex alone). But the feeling is different because the nerves are different.

Interesting fact. In scientific studies where they measure both male and female orgasms, they measure reactions mainly through a probe placed in the anus. Women orgasm strongly in their anus. I did not know that!

I can believe that. There is a nerve that goes through both the vagina and the anus, so it is totally possible to orgasm that way. It is just that for many women, penetration alone is not enough, regardless of where that penetration is. But an orgasm will usually be felt through the nerves of both.
