Well, if you live in an environment that fosters black/white views and the real threat of getting injured even if innocent, I would be surprised if that wasn't the case.

But then again, I could be just biased since I live in a very multicultural part of Malaysia. It's hard to be solidly on one issue once you have neighbors who pierce themselves in one part of the year and freely invite others to open houses in another.
