Man I really wish I had played the first game now. The idea behind them seemed pretty stupid fun, but it seems like it must have been good enough to get sequels. I'll have to play this one for sure now!

The first two games were ridiculously fun. They know they're silly and they have no problem with that :p but for a silly game, there's a surprising depth to the paleontology research that pleased my dinodorkness. I really need to look into getting a 2DS so I can get this new one...

Not taking itself seriously sounds like a definite point in its favour (op's screencap is a given too). And it'skinda cool to hear it does have a bit of credible science to it too. Are they standalone enough that I could play the second first?

And totally look at classifieds if you don't mind used. I keep seeing them go for under 50 where I am.

I don't remember there being too much continuity between the first two games. It's kinda like Pokemon in that regard, there may be things you miss if you don't know the previous games, but in the end it's all about battling monsters :p.

I can't even read this in an actual Australian accent. Instead I hear an American doing an over the top bad Australian accent while reading this. Like something Conan O'Brien would do.

lmfao I need to get this game. I only played the first one but I loved it.

He reminds me of a character from "Monster Racers," a mon-based game for the DS. The leader you meet in Australia is about as stereotyped as this guy, but he's actually a pretty cool character who becomes your friend.
