It's a really interesting and complicated book, but I recommend starting it when you know you've got a big chunk of free time coming up, because if you put it down for too long you'll be lost.

Text: I’ve wanted to try reading this book for a while, despite the fact it is notoriously difficult to get through.

s!b: The main (and perhaps only) reason I actually want to read this is because one of my beloved teachers claimed my writing style was similar to this book

You should feel flattered! Infinite Jest is a genuinely great book, flawed, but great. I enjoyed it a lot -- and yes, you do want to read it all at once without any long breaks if you can manage it. If you don't have a whole weekend free, try to read part of it every day.

With Infinite Jest, maybe try reading the first 100 pages, and if it doesn't work for you, set it down.
