Depends on what you enjoy, I suppose. I would have watched the whole thing just to watch Rush spectacularly self-implode while managing the odd absent-minded moment of grace in the interim (and, admittedly, to watch Bobby Carlyle in action). I also liked Greer, Park and Brody. Young I didn't care for (mostly because he wasn't interesting enough), Matt either (again, boring), and Chloe & Eli took me a while to warm up to as well.

SGU isn't something I watch to see people save the day, though. It's something I watch to see people scramble for survival and lose sanity and fight each other and once in a while save each other for sometimes entirely inexplicable reasons. Characters like Rush are a perfect storm for me, a rush of survival based on spite and curiosity and guilt and scientific mania and disintegrating sanity and a moment here or there where something still human shines through and manages to help someone instead of stabbing them in back.

SGU for me provides a nice counterpoint to the sometimes relentless-seeming 'we are the heroes because the universe is designed to make us that way' vibe I get from both SG-1 and SGA. It went overboard sometimes, and like I said I didn't like everybody, not by a long shot, but I really did like the show and several of its characters a good deal.

From the little I'd seen of the other shows I was expecting Young to be flawlessly honorable...and then he nearly murdered Rush. The show impressed me with that, not because it was dark (I mean, hey, Rush was basically fine in the end as far as Rush goes) but because it didn't fit the cliche of the military being super wonderful.
