It's gotta taste better than it sounds though, especially if you know what to expect taste-wise. I'll have to look into this at the import shops :|a

But the anon wife worked so hard to suggest it. I would be the worst if I forbade them from returning to the kitchen without at least trying it once.

I'm sorry! Even Norwegian-Americans, who continue to eat the stuff even though actual Norwegians have given it up, agree that lutefisk is terrible! I think they eat it as a test of character or a way of showing off how badass they are, similar to stories of how Vikings who fell into the hands of their enemies might request to be put to death by the blood-eagle.

Man, Norpeople are weird. Besides the part where you turn a fish into a jellyfish, that's still kind of a cool tradition (I read it's a Christmas one too).



It's got pepper(?) and cranberries(?) or bacon(?). I'd be more wary of the mashed potato(?) beans(?) tbh.

eta: so why is it always served with white sauce and basic white potatoes? that's depressing to look at D:>

It's also served with COPIOUS amounts of the strongest vodka available. Presumably so you get so drunk you forget you're eating lutefisk.
