Plot disappointments?

I was watching "Basic" on the TV a while back and I was loving all the plot twists they keep throwing... until the very last one!

Have you ever been disappointed by the last arc or more recent episode/chapter of a show/movie/book that was otherwise keeping you engaged?

Yes, a while back I was reading one of Mercedes Lackey's newer series and one of characters joined the "dark side" because...money, a hot guy and power. This...kind of made sense for the character, but still was a little odd.

Then, towards the end of one of the books this character comes out with how she didn't like it because...they were nasty people and sacrifices herself for her old friends while they escape.

The plot twist in and of itself wasn't so bad - but the way it was written was just...terrible. It felt, to me, like the author didn't like her characters [and also made little since seeing as said character could do illusions.]

I stopped reading at after that point.
