I love both shows, and I do see similarities. But I will say Grimm has one thing going for it: it lets the good guys be friends, work as a team, and (so far) hasn't started turning them against each other. Angel really bummed me out when they kept pitting all the characters against each other with no real resolution to it. Conflicts kept piling up until everything was just a painful mess. Then Jasmine happened. So far in Grimmland, everyone's been on an even keel: conflicts happen, but they get resolved in time. I feel like the characters have genuine affection for each other, and it's really nice to see adults cooperating!
