No really though. :|

I've seen some animes with fucking fantastic plots. Honestly? Evangelion inspired me more than half the novels I've ever read. So they have THAT for value, if you really must have it. Besides, it's fucking art. It's animation, therefore it's art. Open your mind. I know too many people at art colleges to believe that anime doesn't constitute as art.
AND ON TOP OF THAT it's entertainment anyways, as someone else mentioned. Just let us enjoy it and get over it.
Do you attempt to find the ~value~ and ~meaning~ of everything you see on television?


TL;DR? I don't get your point, at all, and you sound really, really pompous.




p.s. Fandom!Secrets has more than just anime secrets. I saw at least 10 non-anime secrets in this post alone.

Srsly, who the hell are you to judge what is art and what isn't? A mere student of a subject whose definition is ever changing, ever expanding?

Trying to set strict definitions for art...kind of an oxymoron, isn't it?

Knowing someone at an art school doesn't mean you have an expanded definition of what does and does not constitute art. I don't think just anything can be art. And I don't think animation = art. I can draw a flip book and putting a pencil to paper doesn't make it art.
