Seriously, I'm sure most of this comm has either been through or is currently completing post-secondary education that is just as prestigious as yours, so I don't understand why secrets like this need to present their 12-degree long UNI-DICK credentials before stating their opinion as if that makes it MORE valid.

Also, Art majors should realize that if they ever want their artistic opinions to be respected, they should never mention that they are an Art major. I've never met a group in academia so narrow-minded and uniform- they're even worse than English majors (which is a feat in itself; I'm getting to that point in education where my peers don't like ANYTHING. Dostoevsky is trash, o rly?).

They're like teenagers who are into Indie music.

Not to say that all art majors are like that, just that the majority of people I know would not take an art major's opinion on art as anything worth more than a dime. "I studied art, so I can tell that's not real art." "Oh, really. Well I like looking at it. *continues to look* "

Oh God I know. I have Art major friends and friends who go to Art colleges, and there's actually a difference in their behavior. Art college kids are really open minded (or at least the ones I know) whereas Art MAJORS at non-art schools are just.... guh.

Art majors (and you pointed it out with English majors too) often have a sense of elitism and seem to think that the less they like the more valid their opinions are, and therefore the more you should suck their dick listen to their shit.

Exactly exactly exactly. Education simply doesn't define you at all.
