I think I just got lucky, and didn't see any of it?

I don't really care for ship wars or Manga vs. Anime battling, personally. I just wanna enjoy my fandom in peace. But I really do wish I could find nice Vash or Livio RPers, on livejournal. I don't usually RP over message boards, but maybe if you wanted to over lj?

I could try it, but it's not something I've had success for in the past. All as well as long as other players remember that I play a *straight* Vash.

All the times I've had the yaoi semi-forced on me... *shudders.* I will play it for some characters, but I don't like it much and I tend to "only for characters I think it IC for" (like Legato).

Yeah, I'm wondering just what segements of fandom you were into just because... man, have I seen the WANK. I've seen people write little essays about how "Character X/Character Y would NEVER WORK and can NEVER BE WRITTEN WELL!" (Granted, the essay that I'm most thinking of was directed at a single person some people thought couldn't write a ship well, but it was still snotty), I've had people brush me off for being a predominatly anime-fan (though I do like the manga, and think I could play Manga!Vash if I tried), I've had someone outright say that I *couldn'* write Vash as straight because they thought yaoi with him and Wolfwood was canon and that I couldn't go against the holy canon (I think that person changed fandoms recently, though).

Just, oy, oy, oy.... I can tell you that, in the Trigun fandom, I feel like the battlescarred old fart who loves something nobody cares about anymore. XD.

You were lucky. You were IMMENSELY lucky.

I don't really ship anyone, to be honest. At least, not the manga versions. I see Wolfwood as being a-sexual in the manga, because though he refers to Milly as being cute, he never makes a move on her or shows any interest beyond that. Nor does he show interest in... Well, anyone.

I could honestly see Vash and Wolfwood hooking up if they had a long, long time to develop their friend relationship in that direction, but I don't ship it in the obsessed 'it-must-happen' kind of way. I guess I'm so laid back about pairings that I just don't care anymore. :\

It is an excellent attitude to have about pairings.

It's like... at core, I'm a Vash x Meryl shipper, yet at the same time, I don't really see it *working* unless time is taken to develop it - it's like, I see it as a post-series (both series) "possibility" or something that works in AU, but... My general attitude toward Trigun ships are a lot like yours, I think.

Unfortunately, I ran into a lot of the rabid shippers back in "the day." I was even good friends with one until that (and a variety of other things) got to be too much for me.
