Did you watch the third? GoW3 fucked me up; I actually cried like...three times during that game, lmao. GoW2 had some heavy-hitting moments too though, like the one with Dom and his wife, and then Ben Carmine's death...

The ending was so damn bittersweet. (Marcus had lost so much and was so damn miserable that I didn't even feel like celebrating.)

I don't think I saw the third one. I saw the first and second, I know for sure. But I may have been at college by the time the third rolled around.

Well if you ever feel like watching a let's play and finishing it, I think you would like it! The final game might actually be my favorite in terms of gameplay and storytelling, though I enjoy the others a lot too and love the series as a whole. Dom in particular gets some great scenes in 3, but everyone has their moments. (Cole has a hilarious scene that I can never remember without laughing, and I just want to hug Marcus. Also, make out with Baird.)

Any recs for a let's player to watch?

Sadly, not for Gears of War. I do like raedwulf gamer (He has a hilarious Outlast playthrough) but he mostly plays horror games and hasn't done GoW. I wish I had something to suggest! Maybe I'll look into it later.
