Meh. This sounds pretty normal. You want to go on sitcom adventures. Nothing wrong with that.

I wish I could enjoy light amusing fantasies like this. Most of my fantasies are dark h/c of my brOTP(s) and sometimes I think that I don't really know what I'm going to imagine instead of this if I ever want to take a break from my canon/relax without thinking about someone suffering. My head is a weird place.

I don't think it's pathetic at all. I've been known to mentally reframe the most hellish parts of my life, as I'm surviving them, as marvelous adventures. It could get kind of terrifying when things got really bad, but it definitely helped a LOT. It gives you emotional distance from what you're dealing with, and hopefully some perspective as well.

As someone who loves sitcoms, and yet, ironically, somehow can't think of, let alone write, situations like that, I think that's neat.

Yeah, we all pass the time with fantasies; I love that yours are so fun and genre-specific.

Do you ever do a "clip show" where you and the people around you flash back to the previous zany adventures you've fantasized about, so you've got five minutes of new fantasies and 17 minutes of existing footage? Or, even weirder, you ever do a "Paradigms Of Human Memory"?

'Paragrims of Human Memory'? Sounds familiar but I can't remember what that's from. The Simpsons?

I've had some near-sitcom experiences, and I've imagined what those would be like as actual sitcom episodes. I think none of the characters, including myself, would be likeable. And it would be why they would be funny.

Tbh, I'm kind of lonely lately too. My most recent of those were more light schadenfreude than hijinks, and they would be from my solo spinoff instead of the previous ensemble cast. But hey, seasons change.

Whenever I get lonely, I imagine myself in sitcom style situations to pass the time.

You know, like:

* We broke some really expensive item and need to make enough money to replace it before the owner notices

* We were already on an obnoxiously long car ride through the desert, but the car broke down and we’re stuck camping below the stars

* Two of us have a date with the same person, on the same night, at the same time, in the same place and neither of us notice

And I put people I know in sitcom character roles (The goofy one, the sarcastic one, the logical one, the flirty one, and the ditzy one, who is usually me)

…Pretty sad and pathetic, huh?
