I've always liked Zutara better than Kataang. I'm not embarrassed exactly but it's not something I go out of my way to mention. Except in threads like this apparently.

High five for Zutara!
I'm not really *active* about it, but I find it a more interesting pairing than Kataang, and if I'm reading fic I'd read Zutara over Kataang.

I also liked it better, if only age-wise really. But man the fandom was seriously nuts.

The ages are a big thing for me too. I always have memories of middle school and the differences between the 12 year-olds and the 14 year-olds in the back of my mind. I actually remember being in sixth grade and being slightly creeped out by a couple couples made up of a 6th grader and an 8th grader. But it's hard to say that without people acting like you're doing the "Kataang is a pedo ship!" thing.

I genuinely thought they might have been going there when I watched the first season.
I wasn't overly invested in it, I just thought they were dropping hints about his redemption having something to do with her, and I thought they might be closer in age/maturity than Katara and Aang, so it seemed logical.

Can't mention I thought it would be canon without someone assuming I was involved in the crazy shipping war.
