Why rollercoasters? What's so awesome about them?

Rollercoasters are awesome because they are machines that combine science, art and engineering to create one helluva experience, also the creativity that goes into designing, building and themeing them are absolutely endless. it feels like every year, there is at least one new rollercoaster type/breakthrough to follow. (For instance, RMC wooden rollercoasters than can loop)
