I have a ton of rare-pairs I ship, and I'm a bit embarrassed to have to explain why I do, especially when it very often boils down to just "I think it would be interesting to see how they'd get together". My latest is Dorian/Solas from Dragon Age.

Huh, you know, I'd never think of that pairing on my own but if I had to ship Dorian with someone other than the Inquisitor or Bull, or Solas with someone other than the Inquisitor, I think they might make an interesting pairing. (I like the thought of them more than Dorian/Cullen anyway, and that one is super popular.)

Maybe they could geek out over magic and have angry sex until it developed into ~feelings~.

It might be just because I hauled those two all across Thedas in my first play-through, but a lot of their banter was Dorian trying to form a connection and usually failing because of a foot-in-mouth syndrome (which he doesn't really have with other people, so it was really fascinating). It was pretty easy to read it as Dorian having a crush on Solas. Idk how I'd get Solas to like Dorian back, but yeah, that's what I got.
