Eh, it's just one fic? If it triggered an emotional reaction in you you're not comfortable with for whatever reason, you don't HAVE to go back to it.

What is a mindbreak fic?

I assume it's a fic where the entire purpose of it is to break a character mentally. I've written a few of those... I find it extremely taxing to write, personally, and you've got to be in the right headspace for really delving into that kind of rough subject matter from the inside.

Massive trigger warning for rape

I'm not sure if this is the same sort of thing, but on Exhentai, mindbreak is what they tag it when a manga begins with a woman struggling against being raped and ends with her begging the guys to rape her more. It's a common tag on doujins about female characters who do a lot of physical fighting. (I've repeatedly tried and failed to find doujinshi where certain of those characters don't get raped, so I'm way too familiar with the patterns that keep repeating.)

Text: HALFWAY THROUGH writing a mindbreak fic, I backed out. The mindbreak hadn’t happened yet, I was still building up to the betraying, but all of a sudden, I found I couldn’t stomach writing it any further. I wish I could say I had squicked myself out, but really, I’m scared I won’t be able to do the set-up justice. But I know what happens to stories I don’t work on (I don’t tend to come back to them) so… I’m just stuck in limbo.
