i disagree that those are homophobic or misogynistic tropes

in particular:

the very premise that relies upon penetrator/penetratee as social standings and related to dominance and power

IT IS A FICTIONAL WORLD DESIGNED AROUND THAT BEING THE CASE

it's not like this is a case where people are writing a world that's meant to be ours where, coincidentally, dominance and power is continually linked to a specific sexual role. it's a whole concept meant for playing around with the connection between power and sexuality. which is hardly a new thing for god's sake.

This. It's like complaining that, oh, Agent Carter is set in a sexist time, when that's literally the point. A/B/O exists to play with gender roles, so it's really not worth it to complain that A/B/O has gender roles.
