Did you watch the BTS stuff? They go over all the food preparation and stuff. They really did put a lot of effort into making his pantry and the food look enticing. It's no wonder you'd want some.

Hobbits look like they make some pretty amazing food though so I completely understand the want to raid their pantry's, I'd like to myself(I wouldn't make a sizable dent in a Hobbit's food supplies anyway).
