There are levels of deafness. Not gonna lie, I'd LOVE to see a hard-of-hearing or deaf character in movies where it's not the big thing. *is hard of hearing but it rarely shows unless you're right up on our bad side*

I would love that, too. My brother's been hard of hearing his whole life, so it's something I'm entirely used to being around, and it'd be nice to see that in movies or whatever.

Yup. People act like there's only "nope, can't hear fucking shit, you could blast a vuvuzela in my ear and wouldn't hear a thing" deaf. There are all kinds of hearing loss. We're only deaf in one ear, so mostly have trouble locating sounds, while our pop-pop had the more typical old age hearing loss where he said, "Eh?" a lot. It'd be nice to see more variety.

...this has just made me aware that I don't write deaf/HOH characters myself very often and that I should change that.
