This is coming off a Tumblr post I've seen all over my dash today-

I don't give a shit if someone smokes, I really don't. This post is going on and on and on about how OMGEE BAD it is and how you only look cool in your 20s when you smoke and all this other shit.

Tumblr's all for people using any coping mechanism under the sun until it gets preachy, like in this case. I know people who smoke because of stress or they're addicted or they just need the feeling of holding a cigarette between their fingers.

And chances are, they know it's not the best thing in the world for them anyway, so getting all high and mighty about it as if they didn't know is condescending as fuck.

In the end, as long as they aren't hurting others with second hand smoke and are responsible about it (as in, not smoking in another person's house or car), smoke the fuck on is what I say.

Cheers. I can deal with people who don't want it around them. It's the ones who go "Did you know smoking is bad for you?" that drive me nuts. I always feel like asking them about their medical degree, cuz obviously only doctors know that smoking is bad for you and it's kept this clandestine, well hidden secret that only non-smokers are blessed with.

Yeeeeesh.

The only time I mind people smoking is if they smoke right in my face. This hardly ever happens. So... yeah. It's not the healthiest habit, but barring secondhand smoke, it's their business, not mine.

I'm generally half-and-half on this.

"If you wanna smoke, can we at least move out? I really do wanna talk to you, but that second-hand smoke really irritates my breathing."
