Bisexual is, or shouldn't be, a dirty word.

However, attitudes towards labeling HAVE really changed. There was a generation - maybe two, even, where a whole bunc of us thought we'd move away from labeling altogether really. Then it took a sort of a backswing and now there's pretty much over-labeling.

My point being: I'm not surprised a woman her age does not specifically label herself.

Not to mention that there is a difference between sexual identity and sexual behaviour.

I'm a bisexual woman in Gillian Anderson's general age cohort (she's 46, I'm 40) and "I prefer not to label myself" is something I've said a lot, because sometimes you just get sick of dealing with accusations of just trying to be "trendy" or "desperate for male attention" (seriously, does Gillian Anderson look like she'd be desperate?) or with a "community" that treats half of the letters in its acronym as, at best, grudgingly tolerated.
