It's not just you. I think he's perfectly handsome enough as he is, but with the Thorin outfit on he's just 100% hotter to me and I don't quite understand why. (But this isn't something all that uncommon with me as I find a fair number of the MCU cast way, way hotter in their outfits as well).

I'm so glad you agree with me on this because sometimes I feel so alone and odd for having this opinion. Richard himself is a gorgeous, gorgeous man but I think it's a combination of the beautiful wardrobe, wider features and more rugged looks (which I have a thing for). Plus, you know...he's Thorin Oakenshield.

I didn't realise it was an unusual opinion? One of the things I love about the LoTR and Hobbit movies is the costuming, those things are a work of art all on their own and imo all the actors look amazing in them and in some cases I find them much more attractive in their respective outfits(Vigo Mortensen is a classic example of this, dude is hella fine as Aragorn).

Finding Thorin hot isn't, but finding him more attractive than Armitage isn't something I really hear. Especially here on f!s, heh. Maybe I just haven't ran into it yet!

IA, if there's one thing Peter Jackson's crew know how to do it's to make a good character design and some fantastic costumes. There's so many great details that go into these films.

Viggo is a good example... He's never hotter than when in costume for Aragorn. Unwashed? I don't care!
