Badly written slash couples
Defensive het fans keep saying that, but I am hard pressed to find these canon slash ships you speak of.

Please explain how can a slash ship be badly written and boring if they aren't even canon and never going to be canon?

Most writers and actors are grossed out by the idea of two guys/two girls together so they sure as hell aren't going to push them as hard as they push het ships.

Because a slash ship can become popular and develop a fanon even if the characters have minimal chemistry and are boring together, and shipfics of any kind can become ridiculously popular even when they're dull as wax and badly written.

The relationship of the two characters can be badly written or the characters and relationship could just be generally generic and bland or the relationship of the two characters can be well written but not really well-matched to being turned into a ship. A ship doesn't have to be canon to be badly written.

Also I'm not really a het fan

Please stop being ridiculous

I'm getting really confused by all of these posts insisting that there are no canon slash pairings, that there have never been any canon slash pairings, and that there never will be any canon slash pairings. I mean, the rival ship to one of the two in the secret is a canon slash pairing (And it's considered badly written, too).

Also, of course people are gonna get defensive when you trash something they like in a condescending way. I don't understand why people act like that's a strange or bad thing.
