Anyone new to flight rising today? (Registration's still open until 530 pacific time tomorrow morning!)

If you are, I have a dragon giveaway game going on here, and quite a few dragons to giveaway~

I'm glad they're getting some new homes! I picked up one from you early this morning out of the giveaway and she's great. (Now I'm pacing around wondering how long it takes for babies to finish incubating)

Incubating, as in on a nest? Or how long until their adults? Because they'll be adults on the 6th day. As for nest hatching, nests'll hatch on the day after their fifth incubation, so technically the "sixth day", but it depends on if you remember to incubate the nests or not, and you can 'hold' nests as well if you want them to hatch on a specific date.

You can, however buy (with gems) scrolls that will incubate your nest all at once so that you can hatch it immediately (a boon of fertility) as well as scrolls that will grow your dragons up right away (or keep them perma-babies~)

Which one did you get? :o

The actual incubation phase just after the two dragons do some private dragony things. I tapped the progress bar once and I've been checking it like every two hours going CAN I TAP AGAIN YET?!

I can be patient. I also just really like tapping things. It did look like it can take a while for adults to be ready.

I asked for Thorisdottir, the beautiful black/ice spiral dragon. She's been a pretty good combatant in the Coliseum, too.

Hee XD You can tap once per day (so, it takes five days of incubating if you remember to tap every day, and then the nest is "ready" but you have to wait until at least the next day to hatch)

What the other anon said; unfortunately, you can only incubate your eggs once a day. ^^;

Oh yay! That was actually my friend's contribution, so that makes me really happy! I actually have her sister myself~

so how grindy is FR exactly? I mean I play Fallen London so I have zero problems with grinding forever if the flavor is good, but... like, I have no idea what the point of this site is except maybe to breed dragons?

As grind as you want it to be, really.

Coming from a whole NINE HOURS of experience here, it seems like a Neopets that's not as grindy and is a hell of a lot smoother.

Also, dragons.

Very pretty dragons.

It's nothing like Fallen London, though.

That depends on what you want; if you want to level up dragons, there is some grinding involved, though you can purchase pre-leveled dragons to help with that (two leveled up + one lower level for example). Personally, I got frustrated with the actual grinding up of my dragons from level 1-25, so I paid someone to level them up for me. |D

I've heard the games described as "grind"-y, though I personally don't find them to be a bother. There's a cap on how much you can earn there anyway, and I like just zoning out during shock switch, and playing something fun in the background.

It depends on how you want to play. ^_^

I don't have enough giveaway dragons to create their own thread, but if anyone wants some of mine ( http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=lair&id=85731&page=2 , any after the blue Nocturne), I'm happy to give them away! Don't even have to be a newbie. There's some Skydancers and Imperials and a Pearlcatcher, and also some Mirrors/Faes with white or black bodies and colored wings. Most of them are unnamed, and also most aren't adults, though.

I just sent you the trade request. We're not allowed to actually give them away, so it's a trade for 1 treasure, because that's as low as I can go. Trade requests go through Crossroads, which is one of the sidebar options; you should also get a notification when someone requests a trade.

I heard about that today!

I really want to join but I have a concern...it wants my IRL name and I'm not really comfortable giving a site my real name along with an internet handle (which I would want to share here among other places). I've never had an internet-only site ask for that before that I recall (certainly not one I really wanted to join). I was so excited to sign up, but this made me hesitate.

For people who have joined: did you give your real name? If you didn't, could you get caught and what would happen if you did? If you did, are you 100% sure it's 100% private and will never be shown or accessible to people other than a) you and b) the admins of Flight Rising?

I'm assuming they need your real name, since you can by merch (gem currency) from them, and having your real name would help prevent issues wrt your paypal, if you use it, but I don't know.

I did use my real name, however, and so far I've not had any problems? I did go into my "user profile" settings, though, and under "user profile" was able to edit my real name, so that's something to think about?

Huh, I didn't think about that but I'd have assumed that you have the option of connecting PayPal or a card or whatever later if you elected to buy stuff.

My friend who has been on FR for a while now says she doesn't even remember giving her real name and many of her friends don't either. :/

Than don't! I doubt they'll really notice, especially as long as you're not scamming in other ways (Botting, multiaccounting, etc.)

I'd definitely say go for it, I mean, once reg closes, who knows when it'll open again? :3
