Maybe what they're both looking for in their marriage isn't the norm, but it works for them?
I just kind of feel like people (both Gaiman and Palmer's critics, and people in general) are really caught up in whether other people's relationships have "chemistry" or whether or not they should work well together. But frankly, you and everyone else besides these two, have no idea what they want from their relationship. Maybe Gaiman is way into cuckolding or something, and Amanda is happy to oblige, or maybe he's ace and she's not, or maybe they both married because they want the tax benefits. Point is, who the fuck cares?
