Text: An open letter to all the XMFC writers on AO3:

I am not one of those jerks who make a bid deal over whether or not someone is a ~TROO FAN~. I could not care less if you like the movies but have no interest in the comics. I also do not care if you started reading the comics because of the movies. I understand that everyone has different tastes in media, and I respect that.

However.

YOU NEED TO STOP FUCKING TAGGING YOUR MOVIEVERSE FICS WITH THE TAG “X-Men (Comicverse)”. THE MOVIES AND THE COMICS HAVE SEPARATE TAGS FOR A REASON AND THAT REASON IS THIS: THE MOVIEVERSE AND THE COMICVERSE ARE NOT AN HAVE NEVER BEEN INTERCHANGEABLE. WHEN i GO INTO THE “X-Men (Comicverse)” TAG IT’S BECAUSE I WANT TO READ A STORY SET IN THE FUCKING COMICVERSE. INCORPORATING ELEMENTS OF THE COMICS INTO YOUR MOVIEVERSE FIC DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT IT’S A FUCKING MOVIEVERSE FIC. IF YOU WERE WRITING AN MCU FIC WHERE HAWKEYE IS DEAF IT WOULD STILL BE AN MCU FIC EVEN THOUGH HIS DEAFNESS IS ONLY CANON IN THE COMICS, AND THE SAME PRINCIPLE APPLIES HERE.
