I find the fact that she ships herself with MC pretty funny ("Nooooo! Senpai, don't leave me!") But I played the game with MC not hooking up with anyone because all the romantic hints in every social link were just awkward.

Text: the fact that she’s one of the most popular dating options in Persona 4 is so super-baffling to me. It’s not even that I don’t like her, she’s fine, but her romantic appeal doesn’t work on me at all, and she basically fades into the wallpaper for me. Which, obviously, is not a big deal at all, but I always do a double-take whenever there’s any canon ship-tease between her and the MC, because she’s such an “was also there”-type character to me.S!B ZOMG people having different tastes from mine?! What is this sorcery?!! aka I know, it’s dumb.

IA. She was bland to me, and sort of too clingy.

The again I have the unpopular opinion of not shipping MC with Marie in Golden for sort of the same reasons. I find Marie a bland tsun tsun, and don't get the ~she's the one true waifu best girl~ hype.

I guess I like her because she's...thematically appropriate?

I think her being a TV star/idol syncs well with the themes of the game, moreso than the other characters. It's got the whole media element, the whole constructed image of her TV persona (persona, get it??) and that adolescent sexual coming of age thing going on. She's underdeveloped, but so is everyone else in the game. I think there's a lot to work with in a fic sense, though.

Same. It always felt awkward to me and totally like Yu was always internally screaming: "NOOOOOOOO!" when she was making her advances.

Eventually I paired him off with Ayane because to me it felt like she deserved him the most.

I honestly don't ship the protagonist with anybody, but ship practically everyone else, so go figure. The protagonist pleases me more as a bachelor, though I've never played the game.
