I will admit, Digital Devil Saga seriously impressed me, even if it was way too goddamn hard. Strange Journey, though . . . I didn't think it was that popular. (Demon negotiation made me feel like a total scumbag, telling people what they wanted to hear so I could make them join me and immediately kill them to create someone more powerful. And I wasn't fond of how trying to act like a decent human being kept giving me points towards the ending where you mind-control the planet.)

Strange Journey, as far as I can tell, doesn't seem to have as many fans, but I think those of us who loved it usually loved it pretty hard. (On the other hand, I'm friends with a lot of Etrian Odyssey fans, so my social circle may have been predisposed to love the hell out of any Megaten using the EO engine...)

I hated DDS it was such a pale imitation of earlier SMT games. I haven't been able to play SMT:4 though, because of lack of owning a 3DS, and I have heard that it really brought the series back in full form.

SMT:Nocturne and the Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. series are some of my favorite games of all time, so I get where OP is coming with the recent love for Persona.

Persona 4 was such awful garbage compared to the earlier games... I just can't even.
