I feel like most of it is still fandom stuff and you're just so repulsed by RL stuff that the RL stuff gets blown up and starts looking like it's everything when it's not.

No, there's a lot of rl talk and it tends to be rec threads when it isn't.

I think the biggest issue is that userbase is too diverse fandom wise for there to be much meaningful conservation about stuff that a more focused forum would be able to have.

NAYRT - Seriously. When people will say things like "I want to talk about my fandom," I'll ask what their fandoms are, and they'll be shows I've never seen - sometimes shows I've never even heard of. :/

But there's still been great general fandom discussions here. And I feel like superWhoLock people are in luck, at least.
