There is so much to the names is Harry Potter! I love it. Dumbledore supposedly comes from an old English word for bumblebee because she liked the image of him buzzing around the castle. And of course his first name comes from "white". Remus Lupin will always be my favorite because it's just so shameless. Lupin from the latin for "wolf" and Remus from the legend of Remus and Romulus, the founders of Rome who were raised by wolves. I love Sirius, named after the Dog Star, turning into a dog too. There's also a vampire mentioned once named Sanguini, which always amused me.

Huh, I didn't link the Rome's legend to his name.

I'll put it here:
Jus sanguinis (Latin: right of blood) is a principle of nationality law by which citizenship is not determined by place of birth but by having one or both parents (...).

'Hagrid' makes me think of 'haggard' or 'getting rid of hugs'.)

I love the parallel with Lupin being the good werewolf, and Fenrir Greyback (Fenrir being from Norse mythology) being the evil one. It was cool that there were two that were contrasted because the wolf is such a dual archetype (I studied this in high school English class haha) and it shows both interpretations.
