3. yeah, nope. if they want to be paid to write activist articles, they should go look for a job at a magazine or newspaper that will pay them for it. ofc that would mean having the skills and being able to handle the responsibilities, whereas getting people to donate to you means you can write whatever you want so it's much easier. i get that jobs are hard to find and exponentially more so if you want to be an activist *and* paid for it seeing as most small mags and papers are strapped for cash already but theyre not even trying? it sounds like they want the money but dont want to be held to any journalistic standards regarding their activist rants
