If he had dementia there's a good chance he was just confused and you resembled someone he used to know, you know? It might be fuelled by aggression, but it hardly ever leads to violence

I get this all the time. Particularly from old WWII vets who mistake me for their army buddies. One woman was even convinced I was her nephew and was always incredibly happy to see me whenever I saw her.

I find it very flattering that I manage to spark emotional memories for people, even if I'm not the person they think I am. You just gotta roll with it when that happens and keep calm.

That's definitely possible... but based on his demeanor I don't think so, though you never know. It was definitely an overall rewarding job, I liked being able to help people and really connected with some of the dementia patients. I always wondered if I reminded one of them of anyone.
