It's not, actually. Most company policy allows managerial staff to track internet usage at work, in order to make sure people aren't spending all day on Facebook instead of working, and to make sure people aren't accessing prohibited sites (eg. porn).

If there's no IT department already doing exactly this, then there's a good chance your boss will if (s)he is the kind of boss to care about what employees use the internet for.
