(Anonymous) 2015-04-11 08:19 am (UTC)(link)I've had one gofundme pop up on my tumblr to get this one trans guy help to move out of his home because his mother is transphobic and abusive. But I think the sum he was asking for was too much, it was like 15000 because he lives in a remote area and says he needs a car to ship away all his stuff and his pet. And I'm like... really? You can't just move to the other side of town with some help from a friend or something for starters? Why do you need 15000 to who who the fuck knows where right off the bat? If it's such an emergency, leave everything aside from essentials behind. Find someone else who can take care of your pet. You only need maybe 3 thousand to bail, seriously.
He complained about "oh I can't make this money because I only make minimum wage and tips"... but dude you're living at home. That suggests your expenses are minimal or nil. You should be saving bank right now.
I believe he's in a shitty situation, but I think he can get out on his own power and shouldn't be begging on the internet for FIFTEEN FUCKING GRAND.

I've bought two cars that ran for years, for $500 and $650 respectively. "I need a car" certainly doesn't justify $15,000.
