Well, it's not alphabetic, is it? I mean, doesn't the "X-Files" have to do with "Unexplained", not just that it's the 24th division of files the FBI has? So it'd have to do with the letter somehow.

Actually, on second thought, I agree with you, because I completely want a series about the FBI division devoted to investigating crimes involving zebras.

There was an episode that took place in the past, in the early days of the FBI, where there were alphabetical files and they explain that they started putting weird stuff under "X" because they didn't have a lot of cases to file under that letter so there was plenty of room in that drawer.

I thought it was "X" because of Mulder's raging porn addiction. It was supposed to be the X-rated files, but then he got embarrassed when Scully showed up.
