If there's a group of female characters and one of them is the brash, punchy, Buttercup-from-Powerpuff-Girls type, I will always gravitate towards that one.

Same. Not that I don't love the others, but that one is usually my favorite. It's very consistent. Buttercup was my favorite PPG, Rainbow Dash is my favorite pony, and I just started watching SU and I think Amethyst is my favorite gem...etc. I just like how they're not afraid of their power and they can be powerful and feminine without anyone questioning their femininity because they happen to be "brash and punchy" (that's a good descriptor).
