Oh, that's probably it. I was thinking OP might be talking about the lack of tie too.

I don't think it looks bad (and I think it works for both characters), but I prefer a more casual look. I'm with a_potato, it looks a bit severe.

Agreed. Either wear the tie (ties are fun for guys!) or open that button.

That said, I'm not a fan of men having more than one button undone unless they have big pecs. I like Heavage!

I love ties and find them very stylish. Not even just for guys! (I've always wanted to rock a tie.)

I don't personally feel it's hard to get away with two buttons undone (I do this sometimes, though usually when I have something underneath) but two is def better than all buttoned!

I agree ties are not just for guys. When I was 8, I was in a school with a winter uniform that included a tie. It's a pity I moved town to a place north enough not to have a dedicated winter uniform, as it meant I forgot how to tie a tie properly.

Some school uniforms are rather cute! I never had to wear one and certainly didn't mind, but I can see both an upside and downside to them.

I don't know how to tie a tie either. :(
