This might be a stupid question, but how much do you trust that book? I read the beginning of it in a bookstore, and I just couldn't believe that some of the conversations he'd quoted actually occurred as he described. It reminded me way too much of Morgan Spurlock when he distorts the facts.

It's not a stupid question. The weirdness of his questions and interviewees are kind of Ronson's stock and trade, so it IS extremely weird stuff but usually checks out once you get through the self-deprecation. His first well known book was The Men Who Stare at Goats, of which the film that it's based on is actually far more boring. Also, that one I can speak to a bit more authoritatively on Ronson's reliability in general - much of what Goats talked about were things I'd previously researched.

Also, considering the entire nature of the book, being caught fictionalizing this one would probably kill the planet out of sheer irony.

So, yeah. I understand, but he's also deliberately drawn to weird people.

The Men Who Stare at Goats is an awesome movie.

Have you ever been around a sjw? Considering they call you 'omg acephobic' for using the word virgin, Bleach racist because they wanted a bleach emoji, and now they think sex is a social construct which makes absolutely zero sense, I bet his stories are true.

and now they think sex is a social construct

...where do they think babies come from?

Or, wait, do you mean sex as in physical characteristics?

First one I believe, since it included 'biology is a social construct'. I don't think they understand that as a species we produce by a male and a female having intercourse, and not...whatever it is they think sex is.

That reminds me of that thing someone posted a few days back written by the lesbian separatist, where among things she said that wanting and enjoying penile penetration wasn't "authentic female sexuality" and instead it was one of the things women had been indoctrinated to think they enjoyed by the patriarchy.

It's like, girlfriend, that don't make sense. I get that we can make test-tube babies now, but that's a pretty recent thing. For most of history, for that whole reproduction thing to happen, at least some women had to be liking the d.

Is this supposed to apply to humans only or to other mammals that also have penetrative sex for reproduction? I'm just wondering how they came to that conclusion.

Does that mean I'm now acephobic for mentioning I use extra virgin olive oil in my cooking, or virgin blood in my black magic rituals?

Yeah, better ask Satan for forgiveness.
